This brief document is intended to let you know how the renting of accommodation with Regattalets works, and what you can expect from us, the Landlords, and the property.

The vast majority of properties available are either main residences or second homes and so a significant part of our work is matching people to houses. Landlords take a great deal of pride in their houses and we want to make sure that visitors are aware of their responsibilities in caring for them.

The cost of renting a property depends on the standard of the house, its location, and which event it is being booked for. As a guide, a figure of £35-£60 per person per night can be used.

Finding a property in Cowes

There are two options for finding a property in Cowes for the regattas via Regattalets.

You can either use our search facility on this website. You will have the opportunity to specify the standard of accommodation you are looking for, its distance from the town center, and its size/capacity. The search will produce property details, photos (if the Landlord wishes it) and a facilities checklist. You can then email the details to anyone, or you can create a portfolio of properties which will be retained after to leave the site.

The Booking process

Once you have found a property you are interested in, we will take some details from you and contact the Landlord. If they are free and wish to take the booking, we will prepare a booking confirmation which requires a 20% non-refundable deposit. Once paid, contracts will be prepared which are signed by both parties. The balance of the rental fee is due 8 weeks before the regatta together with a refundable damage bond in case of accidental damage. As long as there are no deductions, the refund of the damage bond is made within 5 weeks of the end of the let.
